Rated as one of the top three ethical producers in the UK by the ethical consumer magazine Cornwall Soapbox is a Cornish family business making hand made soaps and skin care products using Fairly Traded, Organic and Cornish ingredients.

We use the “cold process” method for making the soap and shampoo bars where the naturally produced glycerine is retained in the bars and thereby helps to moisturise the skin. African unrefined Shea Butter is added at trace to the finest of natural oils to ensure that as many of the properties of the Shea Butter are retained in the final product.

We have an ethical and sustainable procurement policy and use local ingredients whenever possible. We use Fairly Traded organic Shea and Cocoa Butter which we have sourced from a woman’s cooperative in Africa. Our beeswax and honey comes from either a Zimbabwean organic fair trade farm or locally in Cornwall and we only use Cornish Spring water in our soaps.

The main ingredient used in naturally produced soap is Olive Oil. We have recently sourced an extra virgin Olive Oil from Palestine which is soon to be certified Organic and Fair Trade. The olives are grown on the Gaza Strip and benefits the community as the sale of the oil is the only source of income for the Farmers’ Cooperative

We also make Guest Soaps for hotels and guest houses in 25g (1oz) and 50g (2oz) bars.
